Cars Land is most likely the most photographed part of California Adventure. Cars Land had three attractions, multiple eating locations and a mountain ton of photo opportunities. It was by far my favourite land in both parks. Beware, I have a lot of photos!
The Crazy Cone Motel area is so fun! I really love the smaller details, especially where the cones are literally everywhere! The larger cones themselves are food outlets where you can get churros, bread cones, ice cream and popcorn. The only downside to this area is there is only a few spots for you to sit down, but you can easily hop over to Flo's to sit down. There is also a meet and greet area for Mater and Lightening McQueen, which does draw a big crowd.
You can also get a pretty good view of the cars as they drive to their meet and greet spot. You can't stop to take a photo with them, but you can take one of them!
Flo's V8 Cafe was probably my favourite photo spot in Cars Land. The area is pretty packed generally, as you can see. It definitely gets busier when the lights come on around sunset.
The inside is very 50s style diner, which I completely love. As you can see, there is a rear view mirror at the top of one of the indoor seating areas. All the small details! I did eat here, which you can see in this post.
Let's talk Luigi's. I was so beyond excited for Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters. I had seen so many videos of this ride and it was one of the first things I had to do. This ride is such a laugh. Like the teacups, it is impossible to keep a straight face! I queued no more than 10 minutes, which was great considering I had done an 11 hour flight and it was evening by the time I got to this one. I loved watching all the different routines and hearing the different songs. This was, hands down, one of my favourite rides in the whole of Disneyland and DCA.
Now for the absolute star of the show, Radiator Springs Racers. This is like Disney World's Test Track on steroids. The theme is insanely well done, the ride itself is so fun and there are so many photo spots around the track as well as inside if you are fast enough. I cannot rate this one highly enough, and it sure tops my list as the best attraction at both Disneyland and DCA.
The intricate details in Cars Land are fantastic. The markings on the floor separate the path into lanes, the sides of the "road" have rails on, and there are road signs all around the land.
There are also some great photo spots for the track for Radiator Springs Racers for those of you not too keen on the faster sections of the attraction. The cars do come pretty much straight past you, so you could get a good view of your friends and family.
All the stores in Cars Land are themed. You have the military base, a road-side shack and the psychedelic tent. Each area is completely different to the other, and once again, provide many a photo spot.
The lighting ceremony in Cars Land is so cool. If you stand at the very top of the area and look down the main path, you can see all the lights come on. This place really comes alive at night and feels like such a different place.
Overall, I absolutely loved Cars Land. There were so many great photo spots and it is so well themed. It gives me the feels of old school Disney, despite Cars not being old school Disney in any sense of the word. It felt like traditional Disney with minimal use of screens and I really loved it! All the attractions were so good and so fun!
If you are heading to DCA, make Cars Land your first stop!
