Pixar Pier is the reimagining of Paradise Pier at Disney's California Adventure park. It is home to multiple attractions, including World of Colour on the lake during the evenings.
Just before Pixar Pier is Paradise Gardens Park where you can find the Voyage of the Little Mermaid. This is pretty much an exact copy of the ride in Magic Kingdom in Orlando, but does have a very different queue with a much less impressive facade. Still a nice sit down though!
I never saw Paradise Pier, and I know a lot of people were unsure about the Pixar overlay, but I can say for sure that I really liked it. Although I would have loved to have experienced Paradise Pier, I really liked the addition of the Pixar characters, including this cute statue of Forky!
I had seen so many videos of the Incredicoaster on YouTube and definitely had high expectations for it. I am definitely a fan of a good coaster. The ride itself was really long, which was surprising because I don't think it looks that long of a ride from the outside. The queue went pretty fast too, so don't be put off by any longer wait times. When we queued it had an estimated time of 25 minutes and we were on in just over 10. I loved the addition of The Incredibles and the effects in the tunnels were really fun!
Jessie's Critter Carousel had just opened when I was there and was really busy. Considering this was my first time at Disneyland, I didn't want to spend a large amount of time queueing for a carousel. Having said that, it made for a cracking photo!
What I really love about California Adventure, and Disneyland as a whole, is that all the queues tend to be outside because, unlike Florida, it hardly rains. It was awesome to see Mr Potato Head outside of the main queue to Toy Story Mania, rather than in the queue like in Orlando. Toy Story Mania was the same as the one in Orlando, and I still won so that is an added bonus.
What I did notice in general is that the theming is so consistent. This was the Angry Dogs hot dog cart and which immediately recognisable by Anger from Inside Out. There were so many places to eat that I didn't even get around to eating here!
Out of everything on Pixar Pier, I was most excited for the Pixar Pal A Around. I have never been on a ferris wheel where you swing between the structure and I was SO ready for it! It was definitely a great experience! I am lucky that I don't get motion sickness, so if you do I would probably recommend a non-swinging gondola because those things go! You do get gorgeous views of Pixar Pier and the rest of the park whilst you are at the top if you are brave enough!
Also new when I was there was the Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind. This was another ride with a long wait that I wasn't too fussed on missing. It does also have really nice theming to it and I love the look on Sadness; face!
Finally, no trip to Pixar Pier would have been complete without going to see Bing Bong. I won't lie, I went in this store mostly to take this photo. They did have some pretty good merchandise in there though and they also serve some frozen slushie drinks if you want to cool down.
Overall, I really loved Pixar Pier. It was something a bit different to what I am used to in Orlando and had some amazing photo spots. The highlight was definitely the Pixar Pal Around so make sure you don't miss that one!
