Liberty Tree Tavern is a Table Service restaurant located in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom. Liberty Tree Tavern is located in, obviously, Liberty Square and can be found slightly further past Haunted Mansion and near the Christmas shop.
It serves lunch and dinner and has options of an a la carte menu or a family style platter. The price range is from around $15-$60 per person plus sales tax and will be one Table Service credit on the Disney Dining Plan.
Once you have checked in at the podium by the door, you will be asked to take a seat whilst your table is getting ready. We booked our reservation for around the time of the parade and ended up with a window seat and could see it passing by. Funnily enough, we ended up one table across from where we sat for Christmas Day lunch in 2000. Small world!
The interior of the restaurant is old fashioned with dark wooden beams and I love it! It feels very homey and there is a good amount of space between tables. The toilets are nicely tucked away upstairs so you don't get the people traffic going past you all the time.
The food at Liberty Tree is fantastic. They have an extremely similar platter to Garden Grill if you are looking for a less fussy version of that - which is what I ordered.
They are also extremely good at catering to allergies. Someone in our party mentioned that they had wanted fish and chips and the chef actually went over to another restaurant who served a gluten free battered fish to make sure they could have what they wanted.
The platter includes a salad, carved turkey, pot roast, green beans, stuffing, pork, cranberry sauce, mac and cheese and mashed potato. It also comes with a caramel cake dessert with the biggest scoop of ice cream, but I forgot to take a photo of that!
The platter itself is so good. The pot roast completely falls apart and is cooked to perfection, the mac and cheese isn't the usual Disney version but a proper mac and cheese, the potatoes are super creamy and the turkey is juicy. Absolutely no complaints here!
Everyone else in my party had fish and chips and the portion was massive!
Overall, we highly rate Liberty Tree Tavern and enjoy the food. I highly recommend going at lunch time or around the parade to get away from the sun as well as being able to see the parade from a nice, seated location. I would say that, if you have younger kids, this might not be the restaurant for you, but if you have older kids or are a group of adults, definitely give it a go.
